As you probably know, drivers’ earnings have been decreasing every year.
After the AG Office’s settlement with Uber & Lyft on June 27th of 2024, Mass drivers’ earnings dropped even lower.
Many drivers rely on this “gig” and many get unfairly deactivated, given no chance for any recourse.
Without our own driver-led union, we have no leverage to negotiate with these companies.
Our group is the only truly driver-led union.
We’re drivers, fleet managers, dispatchers and b2b individuals with extensive experience in passenger transportation.
We aim to improve and maintain drivers’ work conditions, thru collective bargaining, while providing legal representation in disputes.
Collective bargaining is the process in which drivers, thru BDU, will negotiate contracts with Uber & Lyft for their pay, benefits and safety policies.

Ballot question #3 which we all voted in support of on November 5th, gave Massachusetts Uber & Lyft drivers the right to unionize, while keeping independent contractor status.
Flexibility and independence is at the heart of the rideshare industry.
Currently BDU is building our reach and collecting drivers’ signatures.
We do not expect any financial contributions from our members, until we’re selected as an exclusive bargaining unit and secure our negotiated contract with the companies.
Any active Massachusetts Uber or Lyft driver is welcome to join Boston Driver Union.
We will start addressing them, once BDU will be chosen as a bargaining unit for Massachusetts Uber & Lyft drivers.
There are a few initiatives we are actively seeking help with:
Drivers willing to print & post BDU flyer at Logan Airport Limo Pool and TNC bulletin boards, community cultural centers (Mosques and Churches) and other places of drivers gatherings
Influencers with larger social media profiles, ally groups and channels
Individuals with connections in Massachusetts television, radio channels & newspapers
